2025 Symposium and Stakeholders Forum

We invite you to our 2025 Symposium and Stakeholder Forum! The event brings together energy leaders, researchers, students, and community partners from across the state.
The event will notably give an overview of the Phase I of the Comprehensive Energy Transition Strategy (CETS) led by the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) and the progress on the Climate Action Plan (CAP) led by New Mexico Environmental Department (NMED).
Each morning and early afternoon will feature keynote addresses, presentations, and panel discussions with energy leaders from state agencies, higher education, national laboratories, industries and non-governmental organizations. The event will also feature distinguished keynote speakers, including Secretary Rob Black from the Economic Development Department, Secretary Melanie Kenderdine from the Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department, Secretary James Kenney from the Environment Department, and Dr. Sudip Sen, Dean of Graduate Studies at Navajo Technical University.
The topics covered during the sessions include:
Day 1, November 18th:
- Energy generation, transmission, and storage R&D in New Mexico
- Energy workforce development and education
- Energy initiatives on Tribal Nations
- New Mexico industries and utilities
Day 2, November 19th:
- Overview of the Comprehensive Energy Transition Strategy (CETS) – Phase I
- Critical minerals and mining in the energy transition
- New Mexico Climate Action Plan (CAP) overview
- Carbon and methane management strategies
In the afternoons, the Fidel Center will transform into an interactive open forum featuring booths and poster sessions from research centers, industry groups, and energy associations. Attendees will have opportunities to meet with researchers, students, state officials and energy leaders from across New Mexico to share ideas, explore partnerships, and learn about the state’s most promising energy projects.
