New Mexico Energy Initiatives (NMEI) is an independent, nonpartisan think tank dedicated to advancing New Mexico’s energy future through research, data, stakeholder collaboration, and evidence-based decision support.

Our mission is to connect research, industry, government, Tribal Nations, and communities to develop practical solutions that strengthen New Mexico’s energy future while supporting affordability, reliability, sustainability, and economic development.

This year’s conference will explore how better energy data can support research, infrastructure planning, economic development, and informed decision-making across New Mexico. The event will feature keynote and expert panel discussions, networking opportunities, and an interactive workshop focused on identifying priority datasets, data gaps, and future opportunities for the DETECT platform and New Mexico’s broader energy data ecosystem.
