The New Mexico Energy Initiatives Consortium (NMEIC) aims to establish state and community-centered research groups that leverage New Mexico’s expertise and diverse energy resources to drive sustainable energy solutions.
NMEIC’s mission is to attract fundings and foster collaboration among researchers, industry, state agencies and communities by promoting interdisciplinary research, education, outreach, and policy support in key energy sectors.

Join us on November 17-18, 2026, at the Fidel Center, New Mexico Tech for the NMEI 3rd Conference: Energy Data for Research, Decision-Making, and Planning in New Mexico.
This year’s conference will explore how better energy data can support research, infrastructure planning, economic development, and informed decision-making across New Mexico. The event will feature keynote and expert panel discussions, networking opportunities, and an interactive workshop focused on identifying priority datasets, data gaps, and future opportunities for the DETECT platform and New Mexico’s broader energy data ecosystem.
