New Mexico Energy Research, Outreach and Education

The New Mexico Energy Initiatives (NMEI) Consortium is an initiative led by the Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC) at New Mexico Tech (NMT), aimed at bringing together energy stakeholders across New Mexico to advance energy research, education, and outreach. While no official consortium has been formed to date, NMEI has already gathered numerous stakeholders who have expressed strong interest in collaboration and we are starting impactful projects.

In parallel with these discussions, NMEI is actively strategizing on its structure to ensure that it delivers meaningful results rather than just existing as an initiative in name only.

The initiative aims to expand its network to include New Mexico’s academic institutions, utilities, industries, NGOs, and government entities.

The goal is to determine how best to organize a group that will drive sustainable energy advancements in New Mexico while addressing stakeholder concerns.
