Conference Overview

The NMEI Annual Conference will bring together leaders from government, industry, utilities, national laboratories, universities, and other organizations to explore how energy data can better support research, decision-making, infrastructure planning, and economic development in New Mexico.

The conference will be preceded by an afternoon Critical Materials and Minerals Workshop, creating an opportunity to discuss research priorities, collaboration, and future needs for rare earth elements and critical material development in New Mexico.

Through keynote presentations and expert panels, the main conference will examine how data is used across New Mexico’s energy sectors, discuss current challenges and information needs, and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration, improve access to reliable information, and support the state’s evolving energy strategy.

Following the conference, a post-conference Energy Data Workshop will bring participants together in an interactive format to identify priority datasets, data gaps, indicators, and analytical needs. The workshop will help inform the continued development of the DETECT platform.
